Explanation:

$\displaystyle\\ \lim_(x \to 3-0) (-5x^2+1)/(x-3) =\\\\ (-5(3-0)^2+1)/(3-0-3) =\\\\(-5(3)^2+1)/(-0)=\\\\(-5(9)+1)/(-0)=\\\\(-45+1)/(-0) =\\\\(-44)/(-0) =\\\\(44)/(0) =\\\\\infty$
