this is 8!.

there are 8 choices for the first position.

then there are 7 remaining choices for the second position.

then 6 for the third.

5 for the fourth.

and so on.

we have therefore

8! = 8×7×6×5×4×3×2×1 = 40,320

possibilities to arrange the toppings.
