When a pole 20 feet tall casts a shadow15 feet long, how tall is a nearby tree thatcasts a shadow 24 feet long?

We can set a proportional relation ship comparing the height of the pole to the height of the tree, then:


\begin{gathered} (20)/(15)=(h)/(24) \\ 20\cdot24=15h \\ 480=15h \\ h=(480)/(15) \\ h=32 \\ \end{gathered}

The tree is 32 feet tall.
