Using the given data set, we complete the dot graph.

To find the median, we have to look for the number in the middle of the data set. Notice that there are 23 numbers, which means the 12th number is the median.

Hence, the median is 1.

On the other hand, to find the mean, first, we multiply each number of siblings with the number of data above.


\begin{gathered} 0*4=0 \\ 1*8=8 \\ 2*5=10 \\ 3*3=9 \\ 4*2=8 \\ 5*0=0 \\ 6*1=6 \end{gathered}

Then, we add them all


0+8+10+9+8+0+6=41

Now, we divide it by the total number 23


\bar{x}=(41)/(23)=\approx1.78

Hence, the mean is 1.78.
