the hotel room tax junction city is calculated using the function T(x) = 0.06x + 4.5, where x is the cost in dollars of the room and T(x) is the tax in dollars. What is the original price of the hotel room if the tax on the room was $11.70? I NEED HELP ASAP

T(x) = 0.06x + 4.5

We are meant to find 'x' when T(x) = $ 11.70

Substitute for T(x) = $ 11.70 in the given function

Thus,

11.70 = 0.06x + 4.5

11.70 -4.5 = 0.06x

7.2=0.06x

\begin{gathered} (7.2)/(0.06)=x \\ x=120 \end{gathered}

Hence, the original price of the hotel room if the tax on the room was $1170 is $120
