Apply the formula:

E = h * c /λ

Where:

E = energy

h= Planck's constant = 6.626 x 10^-34 Js

c= speed of light = 3 x 10^8 ms-1

λ= wavelength = 500 nm

Replacing:

E = 6.626 x 10^-34 Js * ( 3 x 10^8 ms-1/ 500 x 10^-9m) = 3.97 x 10^-19J
