What is the image of the point (2, 7) after a rotation of 90 counterclockwise about the origin?​

(-7, 2)

the original point is in quadrant I (top right, x and y positive).

a rotation of 90° counterclockwise brings it to the left into quadrant 2 (x is negative, y is positive).

everything that was high, is now wide.

everything that was wide, is now high.

so, the coordinates trade places, and then x becomes negative.
