Verbal Description - Six more than a number

Let's take the number as "x". So 6 more than it will be 6 added to it. So,

x+6

Verbal Description - A value increased by 5

Let the value be "x", so increasing by 5 means to add 5 to it. So,

x+5

Verbal Description - Four less than a number

Let the number be "x". 4 less than that means we subtract 4 from it. So,

x-4

Verbal Description - The difference between 7 and a number

Let the number be "x". The difference means subtraction. So, we subtract the number (x) from 7. So,

7-x

Verbal Description - The product of a number and 3

Let the number be "x". The product of the number and 3 is the multiplication of both of these. So,

\begin{gathered} x*3 \\ =3x \end{gathered}

Verbal Description - Negative 6 times a number

Let the unknown number be "x". We will multiply -6 with x. So,

\begin{gathered} -6* x \\ =-6x \end{gathered}

Verbal Description - The quotient of 1 and a number

Let the number be "x". Quotient means division. So, the quotient of "1" and "x" means 1 divided by x. So,

\begin{gathered} 1/ x \\ =(1)/(x) \end{gathered}

Verbal Description - A number divided into group of 3

Let the number be "x". If we were to divide this into "groups of 3" we will need to divide this number (x) by 3. So,

\begin{gathered} x/3 \\ =(x)/(3) \end{gathered}
