Line AC and BD are chords intersecting at E

Line EC = 8

Line DE = 16

Line AE = 6

Required

To find the length of line BE

Given the intersecting chords above


AE\text{ }* EC=BE* DE

substituting the given data into the equation yields


\begin{gathered} 6*8=BE\text{ }*16 \\ BE\text{ =}(48)/(16) \\ BE=3 \end{gathered}

The length of BE = 3, thus Option B
