To calculate the surface area of the square pyramid you have to calculate the area of the base and the area of the four faces.

The base is a square, to calculate its area you have to multiply both sides of the square: 8*8= 64 cm

The sides of the piramid are triangles, to calculate the area of the triangles you have to multiply the base by the heigt and divide it by two

(b\cdot h)/(2)=\text{ }(8\cdot8)/(2)=\text{ 32}

Sis you have four sides, and they are equal, multiply the area of the triangle by four: 32*4= 128 cm

Now you have to add the area of the base plus the area of the sides

64 + 128= 192 cm

The total area of the square piramid is D. 192 cm
