You have the next division of polynomials:

(9x^2-6x-6)/(3x-1)

To make it you:

1. Write as follow:

2. You take the first term of the numarator by the first term of the denominator:

(9x^2)/(3x)

you get:

3x

You write the result on the green line.

3. Multiply the 3x by the denominator:

3x(3x-1)=9x^2-3x

4. Substract the result of multiplication above from the numerator, as follow: as the operation is a subtraction the symbol between the terms turn into a +

Then you lower the last term of the numerator next to the result of the substraction: to get a new polynomial (in this case -3x-6)

5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and :

(-3x)/(3x)=-1
-1(3x-1)=-3x+1
