Given the system of equations:

\begin{gathered} 6x+4y=7\rightarrow(1) \\ 6x+2y=5\rightarrow(2) \end{gathered}

Subtract equation (2) from equation (1):

So,

\begin{gathered} (6x+4y)-(6x+2y)=7-5 \\ 4y-2y=2 \\ 2y=2 \\ y=(2)/(2) \\ y=1 \end{gathered}

substitute with y into equation 1 to find x:

\begin{gathered} 6x+4=7 \\ 6x=7-4 \\ 6x=3 \\ \\ x=(3)/(6) \\ \\ x=(1)/(2) \end{gathered}

So, the answer will be:

x = 1/2 y = 1

( x, y ) = ( 1/2 , 1 )
