Plot the graphs of both equations and identify the coordinate of the points of intersection of the two graphs. The solution of the equations is the value of x and y where the graph cut each other

The graph of the equations is shown below

The solution of the equations is the points (-5, -3)

That is,

x = -5 and y = -3
