We have the following:

\begin{gathered} UW=UV+VW \\ \text{where} \\ UW=9x-9 \\ UV=2x-4 \\ VW=4x+10 \end{gathered}

replacing:

\begin{gathered} 9x-9=2x-4+4x+10 \\ 9x-9=6x+6 \\ 9x-6x=9+6 \\ 3x=15 \\ x=(15)/(3)=5 \end{gathered}

Therefore:

UW=9\cdot5-9=45-9=36

The answer is 36 units
