Answer:

Given that,

To find the distance between the points (2,2) and (-2,-1)

we know that,

Distance formula,

The distance between the two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is,

\sqrt[]{(x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2}

Substitute the value we get,

the points (2,2) and (-2,-1)

=\sqrt[]{(2-(-2))^2+(2-(-1))^2}
=\sqrt[]{(2+2)^2+(2+1)^2}
=\sqrt[]{(4)^2+(3)^2}^{}
=\sqrt[]{16+9}=\sqrt[]{25}
=\sqrt[]{25}=5

Answer is: The distance between the point (2,2) and (-2,-1) is 5 units.
