In 2010, the population of a city was 105,000. From 2010 to 2015, the population grew by 8%. From 2015 to 2020, it fell by 6%. How much did the population grow from 2010 to 2015, to the nearest 100 people?

The population increased by 8,400 people making the total population of 113,400 people

Explanation:

In this case we must add the value of the current population and then multiply that population by the percentage of increase, just like that:


105000+105000\cdot(8)/(100)=105000+8400=113400

Which means that the population increased between 2010 to 2015 by 8,400 people, making the total population of 113,400 people.
