First, calculate the difference in cost between buying 3 pounds of chicken across town and buying it in your neighborhood.

3(3.49-3.19)=3(0.30)=0.90

This is $0.90

Then, the distance between the two places is

8.7-2.5=5.2

The difference in distance is 5.2 miles.

Find the number of gallons needed to drive 5.2 miles,

(5.2)/(24)=(13)/(60)gallons

Then, multiply the number of gallons by the cost per gallon of gas, as shown below

(13)/(60)*3.67=0.795166...

Then, the total savings are

Savings=0.90-0.795166...\approx0.10

You would save $0.10 if you drive across town. The expended time can not be quantified in dollars. The extra drive is worth it.
