Find the average rate of change of the line given by the equation y=-2x+3 over the interval [-5, 5]

Explanation:

At -5 the value is y = 2 (-5) + 3 = -7

At +5 the value is y = 2(5) + 3 = 13

From -5 to +5 is 10 units

so the average is (13 - -7 ) / 10 = 2

( which you should note is m , the slope of the line)
