Area of a rectangle is given by the formula;

A=l* w

From the question:

l=5x + 3 and w=4x-6

substitute the values into the formula

A=(5x+3)(4x-6)

we can open the parenthesis

A=\text{ 5x(4x-6)+3(4x-6)}
A=20x^2\text{ -30x + 12x - 18}
A=20x^2-18x-18

Hence, the area of the rectangle can be represented by the expression above
