Paul has two bags. The first bag has four red, one silver, three gold, and six blue coins. Thesecond bag contains three red, two gold, five blue, and two silver coins. What is theprobability that he pulls a silver coin from both bags?

First bag:

-4 red

-1 silver

3 gold

-6 blue

Second bag:

-3 red

-2 gold

-5 blue

-2 silver

What is the probability he pulls a silver coin from both bags?

To do this, we need to add how many coins are in each bag to know the probability of pulling a silver coin from each bag. Therefore:

First bag= 4 + 1 + 3 + 6= 14

Second bag= 3 + 2 + 5 + 2= 12


\begin{gathered} Probability\text{ silver coin in first bag= }(1)/(14) \\ Probability\text{ silver coin in second bag= }(2)/(12)=(1)/(6) \end{gathered}

To know the final probabilty of pulling silver coin from both bags we need to multiply each probability:
