Answer: 1 9/10

Explanation:

1 1/2 +2/5.

First turn the first fraction into a fraction with no whole number= 3/2 Now find the common denominator which s 10. Multiply each denominator with a number to make it ten. What ever you do to the bottom you do to the top, so multiply the numerator as well.

3/2 x 5 = 15/10

2/5 x 2 = 4/10

Now add the 2 fractions together!

15/10 + 4/10 = 19/10

19/10 simplified is 1 9/10

The answer is 19/10 (1 9/10). You can find this by making 1 1/2 into an equivalent fraction or just adding it onto a calculator :)

Hope this helps!!
