Given the graph of the line segment KL on the number line

As shown:

The coordinates of k = -9

The coordinates of L = 15

a. What is KL?

\begin{gathered} KL=15-(-9)=15+9=24 \\ KL=24 \end{gathered}

b. What is the coordinate of the midpoint of KL?

Let the midpoint = M

M=(K+L)/(2)=(-9+15)/(2)=(6)/(2)=3

So, the coordinates of the midpoint = 3
