1) According to the given data, we can write out the following exponential model:


\begin{gathered} y=100\left(1+0.3\right)^x \\ y=100\left(1.3\right)^x\Rightarrow y=100\left(1.3\right)^1=130 \end{gathered}

2) So now that we verified the first generation, we can write out for the second generation:


y=100\left(1.3\right)^2\Rightarrow y=169

So in the next period, the population would be equal to 169 people.
