Identify the following ordered pairs as either x-intercepts, y-intercepts, or NEITHER for the quadratic equation: y = (x + 2)(x + 6)(2,0)(6,0)(-2,0)(-6,0)(0,2)(0,6)(0,8)(0,12)

The following ordered pairs are x-intercept, to solve the equation we will have to make y=0.

The equation will now be,

(x+2)(x+6)=0

Let's now solve for x,

\begin{gathered} x+2=0\text{ or x+6=0} \\ x=-2\text{ or x=-6} \\ x=-2\text{ or -6} \end{gathered}

Hence, the x-intercepts are (-2,0) and (-6,0).

The y-intercept is the point where
