We have the following equation:

0.8+0.3x=5

By subtracting 0.8 to both sides, we have

0.3x=4.2

and by dividing both sides by 0.3, we get

\begin{gathered} x=(4.2)/(0.3) \\ x=14 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the answer is: x= 14
