the school cafeteria offers three salads, four main courses, two vegetables, and 3 desserts. How many different lunches consisting of a salad, main course, a vegetable, and desire are possible?

Since we can choose one of each we have to multiply the different number of possibilities for each thing we eat, then we have:


3\cdot4\cdot2\cdot3=72

Therefore we have 72 different lunches.
