2x+4y=10 --------------------------------(1)

X+ y=15 -----------------------------------(2)

First, we will eliminate x

we have to make the co-eficient of x in both equation to be the same

To do that, multiply through equation (2) by 2

2x + 2y = 30 ------------------------------------(3)

subtract equation(3) from equation(1)

2y = -20

divide both-side of the equation by 2

y = -10

Similarly;

To eliminate y;

we have to make the co-eficient of y in both equation(1 and 2) to be the same

To do that, multiply through equation (2) by 4

4x + 4y = 60 --------------------------------------------(4)

subtract equation (1) from equation (4)

2x = 50

Divide both-side of the equation by 2

x= 25
