we have

(6x-5)/(2)=2x+6

step 1

Multiply by 2 both sides

\begin{gathered} 6x-5=2(2x+6) \\ 6x-5=4x+12 \end{gathered}

step 2

Group terms

6x-4x=12+5

Combine like terms

2x=17

divide by 2 both sides

\begin{gathered} x=(17)/(2) \\ x=8.5 \end{gathered}

Verify

substitute the value of x in the original expression

\begin{gathered} (6(8.5)-5)/(2)=2(8.5)+6 \\ 23=23 \end{gathered}

is ok

the value of x satisfy the equation
