So here we have the equation:

(Let "x" be the number).

$12\cdot x+6=6\cdot15$

This is:

$\begin{gathered} 12x+6=90 \\ 12x=90-6 \\ 12x=84 \\ x=(84)/(12)=7 \\ x=7 \end{gathered}$
