Step 1: Write out the equation

8^y=16^(y+2)

Step 2: Write 8 and 16 in terms of powers of 2

\begin{gathered} (2^3)^y=(2^4)^(y+2) \\ \text{ Therefore} \\ 2^(3y)=2^(4(y+2)) \\ =2^(4y+8) \end{gathered}

Hence,

undefined
