We are given the following two equations


7x-2y=-13\qquad eq.1
x-2y=11\qquad eq.2

In the substitution method, we separate a variable in one equation and substitute it into the other equation.

Let us separate the variable x in eq.2


\begin{gathered} x-2y=11 \\ x=11+2y \end{gathered}

Now let us substitute the above value of x into the eq.1
