Here, we are asked to solve for y

In other words, we want to make y the subject of the formula

We proceed as follows;

To make y the subject of the formula, we need to isolate y

We can do this by bringing y to the left handside of the equation while we bring 24 to the right handside of the equation

Thus, we have;

6x - 24 = y

Hence the solution is y = 6x - 24

Kindly recall that if we bring a certain value over the equal to sign, we are simply going to chamge the sign of that value. That is why 24 becomes negative and y turned posistive
