The endocrine system and made by a serie of glands and tissues that make and secrete hormones used to regulate the body functions and maintain the homeostasis. The homones produce by the endocrine system control several processes in the body, such as: metabolism, sexual function and reproduction, development and growth, sleep pattern, mood and emotions pattern, and blood pressure. The glands of that system sends the hormones produced into the bloodstream to the traget cells, like the case of the insulin that is produced in the pancreas and liberated by that organ into the blood to guide the glucose to the liver to be stored as glycogen, or the case of the strogen and testosterone that are essetial to the development of the secondary sexual traits in humans.
