Biogeography means the study of the distribution of organisms in an area. Common terms associated with biogeography are cosmopolitan (an organism found almost everywhere), disjunct (an organism with two populations found in different parts of a region), native (an organism present in a wide area), and endemic (an organism found only in a particular area). Biogeographical evidence is a type of proof of an organism's past or present occupation of a particular area. This can be in the form of fossils, manure/fecal matter, bones, etc.
