$\begin{gathered} x^2+24=14x \\ x^2-14x+24=0 \end{gathered}$

Therefore,

$\begin{gathered} x^2-14x+24=0 \\ x^2-2x-12x+24=0 \\ x(x-2)-12(x-2)=0 \\ (x-2)(x-12)=0 \\ x=2 \\ or\text{ } \\ x=12 \end{gathered}$
