The United States government tends to do this during every big war we have fought in the past. The excuse used by the government is that they are just protecting us, while they have actually stripped people's free speech and right to protest in the past. This is due to them not agreeing with the war the United States had been in at the time. But according the United States government our civil liberties are restricted or taken from us for our own "protection"
