f(x) = 4x-4

1) We've been told that point (3,8) belongs to another line and that's parallel to y=4x-7

2) Parallel lines share the slope. So we can write that

m=4 for the parallel line.

2.2) Now we can plug into the slope-intercept form the given point:

(3, 8)

y=mx + b

8=4(3) +b

8=12 +b

8-12 =b

b = -4 So the linear coefficient of that parallel line is -4

3) So, we can write it out this parallel line as described by the following function:

f(x) = 4x-4
