The ratio of two supplementary angles is 7:8

Let 7x and 8x be the two angles.

Supplementary angles mean that the sum of these two angles must be equal to 180°

7x+8x=180\degree

Solve the equation for x.

\begin{gathered} 7x+8x=180\degree \\ 15x=180\degree \\ x=(180\degree)/(15) \\ x=12 \end{gathered}
