,Each bracelet requires 2/3 foot of string. To determine how many bracelets you can make out of 6 feet of string, you have to divide 6 by 2/3:

6/(2)/(3)

To divide a whole number by a fraction, the first step is to express the whole number as a fraction, for this, divide the number by 1

\begin{gathered} 6/(2)/(3) \\ (6)/(1)/(2)/(3) \end{gathered}

Next, you have to invert the divisor fraction (2/3), to establish its reciprocal fraction (3/2) and multiply the dividend (6/1) by the said reciprocal:

(6)/(1)\cdot(3)/(2)=(6\cdot3)/(1\cdot2)=(18)/(2)=9

The number of bracelets you can make with 6 feet of string is 9 bracelets.
