For the following true conditional statement, write the converse. If the converse is also true, combine the statements as a biconditonal. If x= 8, then x^2= 64

we have the conditional statement

If x= 8, then x^2= 64

Write the converse

The converse is

If x^2=64, then x=8

This statement is not true

because

-8^2=64 and 8^2=64

therefore

If x^2=64, then the value of x is -8 and 8
