What are all the possible values of a and b that make 3x + 6 = ax + b have one solution?

For an equation to have one solution, the coefficient of the term with x must not be equal.

From the problem, we have an equation :


3x+6=ax+b

The coefficient of x on the left side is 3, so the coefficient of x on the right side must NOT be equal to 3.

So a = all real numbers except 3.

and

b = all real numbers
