First lets make each fraction a number, 5/12 as a decibel, is 2.5. 1/2 as a decimal is 0.5

We had converted the fractions to equivalent decibels, 2.5 + 0.5 is 3

Now we either switch 10/12 to a decibel or keep 10/12 as a fraction.

In this case id keep 10/12 as a Decibel and add then up once you figured out whats 10/12 as a decibel then,

Check witch decibel is bigger.
