Subtractf(x) =-5x²+x-2g(x) = -3x²+3x+9

We are given the following functions:


\begin{gathered} f\mleft(x\mright)=-5x^2+x-2 \\ g\mleft(x\mright)=-3x^2+3x+9​ \end{gathered}

we will find their difference.


f(x)-g(x)=-5x^2+x-2-(-3x^2+3x+9​)

First, we will change the sign of the terms inside the parenthesis, since it is preceded by a minus sign:


=-5x^2+x-2+3x^2-3x-9​

Now we will associate like terms, that is terms that have the same variable elevated to the same exponentÑ
