To find the x-intercept of any equation, substitute y by 0 in it

To find the y-intercept of any equation substitute x by 0 in it

The given equation is

6x+3y=6

Substitute y by 0 to find the x-intercept

\begin{gathered} y=0 \\ \\ 6x+3(0)=6 \\ \\ 6x+0=6 \\ \\ 6x=6 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 6

\begin{gathered} (6x)/(6)=(6)/(6) \\ \\ x=1 \end{gathered}

The x-intercept is (1, 0)

Substitute x by 0 to find the y-intercept

\begin{gathered} x=0 \\ \\ 6(0)+3y=6 \\ \\ 0+3y=6 \\ \\ 3y=6 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 3

\begin{gathered} (3y)/(3)=(6)/(3) \\ \\ y=2 \end{gathered}

The y-intercept is (0, 2)

x-intercept = (1, 0)

y-interscept = (0, 2)
