In this case, you need to use factoring or taking the square roots. You will find two values for x, those both values are the roots for the cuadratic equation. I will show an example.

\begin{gathered} x^2+5x+6=0 \\ (x+3)(x+2)=0 \\ x+3=0 \\ x=-3 \\ x+2=0 \\ x=-2 \end{gathered}

In this case -2 and -3 were obtained as the values of x, these are the roots of the given cuadratic equation.
