The formula for determining midpoint is expressed as

Midpoint = (x1 + x2)/2 , (y1 + y2)/2

For the first question,

x1 = - 1, y1 = - 6

x2 = - 6, y2 = 5

Midpoint = (- 1 + - 6)/2 , (- 6 + 5)/2

Midpoint = (- 1 - 6)/2 , (- 1)/2

Midpoint = - 7/2, - 1/2

For the second question,

x1 = - 3.1, y1 = - 2.8

x2 = - 4.92, y2 = 3.3

Midpoint = (- 3.1 + - 4.92)/2 , (- 2.8 + 3.3)/2

Midpoint = (- 3.1 - 4.92)/2 , (0.5)/2

Midpoint = - 8.02/2 , 0.25

Midpoint = - 4.01, 0.25
