hello

to solve this question fast, we need to first convert the unit from mixed fraction to an improper fraction. by doing so, we can use the value to perform an operation

4(1)/(4)=(17)/(4)

a rectangle should have two equal and opposite sides. but in this case, we are told all the sides are equal since they al carry the same dimension

the formula of area of a rectangle is given as L * w. i,e the multiplication of the length and width

\begin{gathered} a=l* w \\ l=(17)/(4) \\ w=(17)/(4) \\ a=(17)/(4)*(17)/(4) \\ a=(289)/(16)=18(1)/(16) \end{gathered}

from the calculations above, the area of a rectangle is equal to 18 1/16
