If we take two ordered pairs from the table, we can find the slope with the following equation:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

in this case, we can take the points (1,1/2) and (2,1) to get the following using the formula above:

\begin{gathered} m=(1-(1)/(2))/(2-1)=((1)/(2))/(1)=(1)/(2) \\ \Rightarrow m=(1)/(2) \end{gathered}

we have that the slope is m = 1/2, and this means that for each 2 gallons of distilled water, Rodnika will add 1 gallon of sea salt
