Given the area of a rectangle,

\begin{gathered} \text{Area of Rectangle=l}* b \\ \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} \text{Length, l=12ft} \\ \text{Breadth, b= 10}(5)/(12)ft \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} \text{Area}=12*10(5)/(12) \\ =12*(125)/(12) \\ =125ft^2 \end{gathered}

If the cost of a square foot is $3.9, then the cost of 125 square ft will be

\begin{gathered} 125ft^2*\text{ \$3.9} \\ =\text{ \$487.5} \end{gathered}

Hence, the cost to cover his kitchen floor is $487.5
