Solution:

From the graph;

The line passes through the points

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(0,0) \\ (x_1,y_1)=(2,-8) \end{gathered}

To find the equation of a straight line, the formula is

(y-y_1)/(x-x_1)=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Substituting the values of the coordinates into the formula above

\begin{gathered} (y-0)/(x-0)=(-8-0)/(2-0) \\ (y)/(x)=-4 \\ Crossmultiply \\ y=-4x \end{gathered}

Hence, the equation of the line is

y=-4x
